RiRi Woo vs Ruby Woo

RiRi Woo is a matte cool red lipstick with retro matte finish launched by MAC Cosmetics for musical recording artist Rihanna. RiRi Woo was influenced by the
ever-so-popular Ruby Woo which happens to
be Rihanna's favorite lipstick.

Ruby Woo is a very matte vivid blue-red lipstick, the finish is similar but the retro matte is drier
and texture is slightly different.

Matte lipsticks don't have the same smooth, silky, creamy texture like in most of the lipsticks we normally buy. I found it is best when applied
with a lip brush (MAC 318).

When applied to the lips you can
barley notice the difference.

RiRi Woo (left) Ruby Woo (right)
RiRi Woo (top) Ruby Woo (bottom)
When swatched side-by-side you can see one is a little darker than the other and the
undertone is slightly different.
If you didn't get a chance to grab RiRi Woo, don't beat yourself up about it.
Ruby Woo is just as good if not better and its still my fav!

The universal eye shadow combination for all skin shades,
the BLACK smokey eye.
The version I did is not as intense as I wanted it to be,

I was ready to hit the club (lol),
so I toned it down blending it with brown shadows.

MAC Gareth Pugh Look

For this look I mixed the Gareth Pugh
Cream Shadows with Inglot Eye Shadows.
I love the texture and quality of the cream shadows, only thing that I found difficult was building up the color while blending it in to the crease. Once the Inglot shadows were mixed in, it made it easier to work with. Overall, I think the cream shadows are a great product but I probably wouldn't spend $32 just because its limited edition.

MAC Iris Apfel Matte Lipsticks

Happy New Year Everyone!

It's been awhile since my last post, so I'm going to make it short & sweet.
Just wanted to share swatches for the new
Iris Apfel Lipstick collection from MAC.

First off, quality is NEVER an issue with MAC lipsticks (at least in my experience). Secondly, the color pay off is so intense! I'm afraid to wear it.... lol okay may not but the color is unbelievable! I'm a HUGE fan of matte lipsticks and these are definitely going in my top 10!

From Left to Right: Pink Pigeon, Scarlet Ibis & Party Parrot

Pink Pigeon: Bight Cleanest Pink
Scarlet Ibis: Bright Orange-Red
Party Parrot: Bright Red-Pink

Not shown in this collection is Flamingo (Lustre)
 and Morange (Amplified Creme).
Morange is a permanent color.

I'm currently working on a look to go with one
of these gorgeous lipsticks so stay tuned! :)

The Rusty Octopus

I did a look based on this awesome bow that my friend Zombrie made. She makes a variety of custom made accessories from earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, bows etc., you name it shes got it! :) My favorite was this glittery golden bow with an antique/rusty looking octopus. What caught my attention was how the color blends in so perfectly with the sea foam green color. Below is the look I came up with.

Overdue IMATS Haul

Waking up Sunday morning was a drag for me! I attended a wedding in Camarillo the night before and didn't sleep till late. I had about 4 hours of sleep but as I woke up; excitement grew on my face, as if I was going to Disneyland...lol So I headed out 60 miles on the freeway to Pasadena with no one besides me, myself and I. Crazy?! Yes!! Would I drive from Camarillo to Pasadena early in the morning again? HELL NO! haha!

Well enough of that morning, lets get on to the
purchases I made at IMATS!

1) Beauty So Clean Pro Package/IMATS Special $40

I know I'm not the only one who forgets
to clean their makeup brushes.
Using these products makes it simple, easy and quick to use!
Knowing how fast these products clean the bacteria off your makeup and brushes BLEW ME AWAY!

The package includes:
*Pro size Cosmetic Sanitizer Mist - You spray your eye shadow, blush, powder foundation etc. and it kills
the bacteria without ruining your makeup.
*Pro Size Conditioning Brush Cleanser - It quickly conditions and kills bacteria that is left on your makeup brushes and dries instantly.
*Cosmetic Sanitizer Wipes - Used to clean mascara wands, lipsticks etc.

I will definitely purchase this again and recommend
this product to every MUA.

NYX Products (Left to Right):
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Oyster, Bronze & Purple
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige, Pink Frost & Ice Princess
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan & Tokyo
NYX Dramatic Chromatic Eye shadow Pigment in Panic
NYX  Glitter Gel in Moon Shine
NYX Matte Lipstick in Pale Pink
NYX Blush in Pinky & Terra Cotta

Lime Crime Lipsticks (Left to Right):

Great Pink Planet
Cosmopop
Centrifuchsia
Coquette

Love the pigmentation and presentation of the product.
Unfortunately, while applying the lipstick you have to be careful not to break it. :(

Lime Crime Candy -Eyed Eye Shadow Helper

This is the best eye primer since UD's Primer Potion! I love this primer because its true to its name, it helps with bringing out the shadow more than you can ever believe!
I will definitely buy it again and highly recommend it!

Lime Crime Magic Dust (Left to Right)

Lime Criminal
Abracadabra
Troubadour
Empress

Highly pigmented, vivid, the color is best when wet and/or
with the Candy-Eyed Eye Helper.
Will buy again and recommend this to anyone looking to
stand out from the crowd!

So there you have it, my purchases at IMATS 2011 in Pasadena.
I look forward to next years exhibitors new and old. And hopefully next year I can splurge a little more! Can't wait for IMATS 2012! Whoo-hoo!
